I thought how can you spend so much time playing something and then deny the opportunity to other gamers? I kind of understand it now. That said, I do still recommend this game. I have 150+ hours immersed without even touching the potentially best feature: sandbox play.My biggest gripe with the game isn't the somewhat clunky interface and minor kinks, it's an older game and actually stands up quite well considering. My biggest gripe is that the campaign(s) in the deluxe version drag on, and are unnecessarily repetitive and dry. My recommendation is to play the initial campaign missions that were part of the basic game in order to get a handle of the mechanics and then dive right into sandbox mode. Unfortunately my obsessive nature meant I felt obliged to attempt every mission, and unfortunately you can't skip any (at least on the Mac version, I believe PC has a cheat code) in order to unlock the next. Your campaign opponents do not play by the rules. The earlier missions are quite fun however and are a good introduction to the general gameplay. I did not complete the final campaign series which was dull, padded out and grindy, and I feel burnt out on the game in general and will uninstall for now. Hopefully one day, I'll revisit and dive into sandbox mode (which I've never tried) from the start.The highlights: you can play as any of the 4 airline managers, each with their own quirks and personality. I personally like the cartoonish 90s style artwork. The basics are easy to learn and you have some options on how you like to play. There is a freeplay/sandbox option with a good supportive online community with guides and tips. This is a tycoon game for ordinary people like me, the business side of things is not particularly deep or realistic and focuses on the fun aspects (to me anyway) of running an airline.. Childhood memories of a very good game <3. A real throwback. If you are expecting a contemplative, optimization-focused management simulation, then don't bother with this one. Because the game features a live-clock and a goofy character movement mechanic, a lot of the gameplay has more to do with efficiently planning your trips around the airport screen, rather than on the actual management.The graphics are classic 90s "3D" - which is to say, very unattractive. The unnecessary voice-over work for the dialogue is kind of funny, but I wound up muting all the sound after a short while.The calendar-based planning mechanic is cool, and it is challenging to plan routes that are profitable - but this winds up being such a small part of the game compared to watching my avatar stroll up and down the concourse.. need mulitplayer and that it runs on windows 8.1. I like this game, have played it many hours in the past. I own the CD with dutch audio etc.Bought this beause I keep losing my CD's. But, even though the game was released in dutch (I own it), this game does not support my language. I find this very strange, why can't they make it work in all the languages it was released it?Furthermore, it is kind of buggy. Which is a shame. This does not make it unplayable, the game I own (original) also had some bugs. Overall it is a fun game, if it's on sale-> pick it up.
